Matthew’s MK1

Matthew’s 1991 MK1 that has seen some serious upgrades over the last couple of years.

This was Matthew’s first step into the world of MX5’s, bought in 2021 after a while of searching for the right car, it had to have the pop-up lights! This car was how Matthew initially met Andrew, taking the car to see him for an initial once over and then a lot of work.

Firstly the car was in for a set of Jass Performance frame rails, braided brake lines, undersealing and general maintenance and servicing.

Over time Matthew started to add some further upgrades, some purely visual, such as a side mount front plate and TSIs. A new head unit, steering wheel and a subwoofer completed the interior upgrades, for now.

Next the car had a full respray, keeping it the original classic red, rather than the faded pink that it had become. That was then it for a while.

Until, a donor car was purchased with a set of MeisterR Sportive shocks, uprated anti-roll bars, and most importantly a turbo kit with built engine.
